First Time at Ma'at

.

We're so glad you're here.

Starting something new takes courage, and we want you to know that every body and every fitness level is genuinely welcome at Ma'at. Whether you're completely new to movement or returning after time away, our space is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Experience the space

We invite you to book a complimentary studio tour with one of our owners. Walk through the light-filled rooms, ask questions, and get a feel for the Ma'at environment. Fair warning: our clients often tell us they fell in love before they even took their first class.

What makes Ma'at different.

At Ma'at, we return to the true principles of Pilates - a practice that challenges both mind and body with intention and precision. Our instructors are extensively qualified, ensuring you receive expert guidance through every movement with proper form and control.

We keep our class sizes intimate by design. This isn't about fitting as many people as possible into a room - it's about giving you the attention and space you deserve.

The Welcome Pack

Your perfect introduction to Ma'at. We believe it takes a few sessions for your body to truly understand and appreciate the practice, so we've created a package that gives you time to explore what we offer. Trust us - your body will thank you.

Client experiences.

"I’ve been going to Ma’at Studio Pilates for a couple of months now, and after never having done Pilates before, I’m honestly surprised by how much I love it. I really look forward to every session. I can feel myself getting better and stronger each week.

What I love most is how welcoming the studio is. I felt comfortable from day one, even though there are people there who are much stronger than me, I’ve never felt out of place. The whole space feels safe, supportive and relaxed, while still giving just the right amount of challenge.

It’s become such a calming, enjoyable part of my week. Highly recommend Ma’at Studio Pilates to anyone thinking of starting!"

- Julie, Mat Pilates

"I’m new to the Pilates world and joined the Mat Mastery classes in the hope of strengthening my core.

Turns out I’m getting a challenging full body workout every visit.

The classes so far have been varied, always focussing on correct technique, and catering to our different fitness (and flexibility) levels.

The studio is a beautiful space with all the latest equipment.

The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and supportive.

Thank you for your expert guidance and patience Jas and Pene.

I’m enjoying the classes, feeling stronger, and looking forward to continuing my Pilates journey with you."

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need prior experience?

Not at all. Everyone starts somewhere, and our beginner-friendly classes are designed specifically for those new to Pilates. Our instructors will guide you through every movement with care and precision.

  • What if I'm not flexible?

That's exactly why you're here. Pilates is designed to build flexibility, mobility, and strength over time. You'll work with your body as it is today, and we'll help you progress from there.

  • How often should I practice?

We recommend at least twice a week for optimal progress, with at least 24 hours between sessions to allow your body time to recover and adapt. Consistency is key to experiencing the transformative benefits of Pilates.

  • What's the difference between Mat and Reformer classes?

Mat Pilates uses your body weight and small props for resistance, while Reformer Pilates uses a specialized apparatus with springs for added challenge and support. Both are equally effective - it simply comes down to preference and what your body needs.

  • Can I do Pilates if I have an injury?

Yes, with the right approach. We recommend booking an Initial Consultation so we can understand your specific needs and create a safe, modified practice for you.

  • What should I wear?

Comfortable, fitted clothing that allows your instructor to see your alignment. Grip socks are essential for safety on the equipment.
